Eman Dar Foundation

The Inspiration
This project started last year during COVID'19 , when Eman observed that in her locality underprivileged people were living in very shabby conditions; starving from hunger , struggling to find shelter and a daily wage job. This distressing situation led to her reflecting on how she can utilise her baking skills to help these people in need.
The Journey
During the nation's first wave of COVID-19, I witnessed my father helping out the poor, who were approaching him with their financial issues. On seeing that, I decided to extend my father’s passion, by pouring in my fair share of efforts, and uplifting the condition of my people and ultimately my country. By virtue of that, I decided to start a business of my own and to use the money collected for the betterment of the people in my surroundings. I learned all the recipes from youtube myself and after a lot of failed attempts, I finally was able to produce quality products to gain the attention and revenue of/from my potential customers.
Key Learnings
The UN Charter Declaration of 10 December 1948 states that all individuals have the right to basic needs, which governments should provide. However, during the project implementation, Eman discovered that youth have a great responsibility to volunteer and uplift the overall condition of underprivileged citizens. During her journey, she developed empathy and compassion, gained a deeper understanding of social issues, and experienced personal growth and fulfilment through helping others. She learned how small steps contribute towards the achievement of bigger goals.
The Impact
These initiatives can benefit the cause enormously. Small businesses like Eman’s, helped gain goodwill and inspired youth to come forward and help their community. It improved the well-being of individuals and communities, promoted social justice and equality, and addressed social issues and challenges to some extent. On an individual basis, it helped Eman in gaining new skills and experiences, building a sense of community, and making a positive difference in the lives of others. Hence led to personal growth and development.
Way Forward
Eman Dar Foundation aims to provide a better future for all those who don't have access to basic human needs like clean water, shelter and food. Her aim is to expand this foundation to an institute where she can employ experts and volunteers.
