Global Warming and Artificial Intelligence By
Khadeeja Shah and Saad Shah

The Inspiration
With the increasing temperatures and disrupted natural balance caused by climate change, the urgency to address global warming has become undeniable. The consequences of inaction could jeopardise the survival of humanity on our planet.... It is crucial for everyone to raise awareness and contribute collectively to combat global warming. Recognizing the power of information technology, Khadeeja & Saad delved into the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to mitigate climate change and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 13; Climate Action. Their study explored various solutions, including AI-powered carbon dioxide monitors, urban planning strategies, carbon footprint reduction measures, and the development of cost-effective electric vehicles. They emphasised that utilising AI, alongside other viable solutions, is essential in addressing global warming effectively.
The Journey
Khadeeja & Saad initiated a project focused on using artificial monitors to control carbon dioxide levels. They aimed to raise community awareness about climate change and highlight the potential of AI in addressing this issue. Their project aimed to contribute to Earth's temperature balance. Recognizing the impact of human activities on climate change, the duo witnessed an increase in climate-related disasters. Motivated by these observations, they sought strategies to mitigate climate change. Urban planning played a crucial role in their project, designating specific areas for tree plantation to meet environmental requirements. The team stressed the urgency of action. They believed that addressing these challenges and taking proactive measures could save the planet and secure a sustainable future.
Key Learnings
The key learning is that the government should collect relevant data on carbon dioxide increase, maintain records of tree planting, and replace carbon-producing vehicles with modern electric cars.
The Impact
Initially, the environment was neglected by authorities and the government. Responsible citizens explored ways to safeguard the planet. Recent studies revealed record-high temperatures in 2015 and 2016. To counteract this, Khadeeja & Saad proposed urban planning and installing AI monitors worldwide to regulate carbon dioxide levels and mitigate temperature increases. Monitors would generate warnings when CO2 levels exceed thresholds. If levels rise, the system recommends tree planting. This project aims to prevent further destruction, acknowledging human-caused damage to climate and ecosystems. The team believes it's not too late to undo harm. They emphasised on an individual contribution for a sustainable future.
