The Inspiration
Sara, an impressive and unique writer, amazed her teachers with her passion for poetry. Exploring the world around her fueled her sensitive soul, inspiring her to craft beautiful verses. The idea of being published never crossed her mind until she discovered 'Aspiring Pens,' a literary agency on Instagram. Submitting her samples, she eagerly awaited a chance. Within two days, her work was selected, marking the beginning of her journey. With Aspiring Pens' support, Sara meticulously refined her writing, giving it the deserving voice. Her efforts paid off as she became a published author, contributing two chapters to the anthologies 'TOO MUCH UNSEEN' and 'BEAUTIFUL AND DOOMED' by April 2021.
The Journey
Since a young age, writing has been Sara's passion . As she got a platform to portray her words, she acquired the opportunity to bring her words to life. The first anthology, ‘Too Much Unseen’, contained her unfiltered thoughts when confronted with the unravelling realities. While the second one, ‘Beautiful and Doomed’, comprised of the inner impetus she wanted to channel through her words, to the readers suffering through various difficulties. She believes that poetry gives us hope each day and, even once they sail through their tough times, poems will be there for them, holding space for relief and escape.
Key Learnings
This journey has been a rich learning experience for Sara. Not only did this initiative aided her to discover her skills as a poet, but it also broadened her perspective.
Most of us don’t have the time or desire to sit and ponder over the meaning of our lives or what makes us deeply happy. Writing poetry gave her a constructive way to do that. Not only did it help her to explore and gain insight, but she also realised she had something to show for all that “inner reflection” when she’s done. This whole experience helped her to find the answers to the intriguing questions, developing her into a better version of herself and contributing positively towards prevailing social issues.
The Impact
Keeping in mind the ongoing issues in the world, Sara has worked on certain topics such as sexual harassment, safety precautions, privacy issues, etc. It's very important to write about the difficult, the dark, and the broken aspects of our world because we have to survive it and then we have to find a way to surmount it.
Way Forward
Towards the future, Sara intends to bring the attention of our community towards the sensitive and compromised matters which have not been discussed. She is impassioned to provision endless people through whatever is available in her capacity! With support and guidance, this project will create awareness and address concerns as a precautionary step benefiting the society at large.
